Year 3 Gallery

Year 3 ‘zoomed’ to Chopwell Woods on Thursday, where they used their senses to experience their surroundings. They began working on ‘zoom writing’ by exploring the forest and woodland at first glance, then looking closer and then then even closer, just like looking through the lens of a camera. They also collected and examined plants linked to Science work and designed a den, having fun while learning.

Year 3 had a fantastic cruise along the River Tyne. This was linked to our topic on ‘River and trade links in Newcastle’ The children learnt the names of the Bridges, what they were needed for and the materials that were used to build each bridge. We walked 12,795 steps, which was equivalent to 9.2 kilometres or 6 miles. Some of us had a turn to steer the boat along the Tyne.
