Training techniques

In November and December 2014 the training techniques were used prior to and during rehearsals for the Christmas plays.  This approach helped children to become more involved in what was happening, and all children had the opportunity to experience each role.  Ruby, a quiet child who very rarely participated, was happy to dress up and perform.
The children had more confidence performing, had a bank of ideas and therefore were more engaged.  Even children with a minor role felt an important part of the performance and the team that made it.
When year 5 visited Sacred Heart High School, their staff noted that our children were confident and showed good understanding of technical vocabulary and drama techniques.  This ability at such a young age surprised the secondary teachers.  The staff at our school realised that it was a result of various techniques that had been taught since the beginning of the school year.
