St Michael’s R.C. Primary School is situated on the north bank of the River Tyne, approximately two miles from the centre of the city of Newcastle.
It was established in September 1996 as a result of the merger of St Michael’s Junior School with St. Michael’s Infant School. These two schools had served the parish of St Michael’s, Elswick, for many years and were situated half a mile apart.
The new Primary school operated on both sites until October 1997, when building work was completed on the site of the former Infant School. The classrooms are spacious and well equipped. The remaining accommodation includes two library areas and a food technology area.
